Once again EE was the worst performer, collecting more than twice the industry's average number of complaints.

As EE are outsourced to BT White Label Product (i.e. BT provide and manage the EE product) then the results are in line with the BT performance.

Sky has always had a low complaints result.

To be honest, these figures haven't changed that much over recent years......although TT are improving but it would be very difficult for them to get worse and stay in the broadband business.

Funny though, its a lot to do with personal preference and what you use in your household I think?

We were with Virgin for years and left when they kept adding costs to what was, originally, the best package on offer. Their C.S was abysmal.

We also found that when we ran 3 computers and the grandsons Xbox, the speeds dropped so low as to be unusable!

We moved to BT (Infinity) and have never had a problem. (Our Speedtest results on this forum were better than anyone elses..)

However, both my lads have Sky and have no complaints.

Am I right in thinking that all lines used by other providers (except Virgin) have to be sourced from BT?

In most of the country, yes.

What I meant re. EE was that they gave up their own LLU product completely whereas Sky for example have their own (independent of BT's equipment) broadband product although they run it over BT phone lines

OK, I'll admit up front that I know very little about BB, how it's delivered or how it works
So in view of this who would like to educate me 8-)
What are the pro's & con's of my Virgin BB (I have a separate cable, not via phone line)?
Does everyone else deliver it via a phone line?
Do you have to have a phone and BB with some suppliers (not a requirement on Virgin)
Who is the fastest & cheapest ?

I figured it was time I looked into getting the best deal instead of just moaning at Virgin everytime they put the price up

If you want the best then chances are they will not be the cheapest.

Andrews and Arnold, Xilo, Aquiss, IDNet, Zen are all top end price-wise but provide excellent customer service.

But BT, Sky, Virgin and TalkTalk are the market leaders by far......20+ million subscribers between them.

Most apart from Virgin require a phone line.

Check out what's available in your area here:
