Samsung Galaxy S3 recovery

PostPosted by plugster » Sun Feb 02, 2014 7:47 pm

can anyone help please?
i have tried to update my firmware for my s3 through kies, it has failed and now i can't turn my phone on or do anything with it. i've tried to put it into recovery mode by holding the power button the volume up button and the home button at the same time, but all it does is bring up a black screen with "firmware upgrade encountered an issue please select recovery mode in kies and try again"
i've taken the battery out and tried the recovery mode again and it's not playing at all.
i need help please

Can you get into download mode (Vol DOWN + Home + Power)?

Kinda stuffed if you can't get into download mode or get Kies to talk to it.
Try the battery pull then download mode again.
Make sure you press in the order I said and not the power button first as this will just turn the phone on.

No you can't use Kies. You need Odin.
I'll get you the thread link in a min.
Edit: Link to thread post56.html?hilit=odin#p56
Just follow it carefully and ask if you're not sure.

Yeah, It wont.
Follow the Odin thread - You need a PC or laptop to download Odin and the correct firmware then you connect phone to PC with your data cable and Odin will detect the phone and flash the firmware.
