BT Question.

I think it's amusing the different experiences we all go through.
We kicked Virgin into touch for increasing bills without warning. Virgin also could not cope with 3 computers and 2 Xboxes. So much staggering and buffering.
We changed to BT and have never looked back. Fingers crossed

This is my first experience with Virgin, so the jury is out regarding their performance. I had cable when I first moved into my house 16 years ago, but it was a different cable company and broadband didn't even exist then. I was a very early adopter of BT Broadband when it first came to market. I remember the router looked like the head of the machine in the original film version of War of the Worlds. It wasn't very good and it wasn't very fast either. I think it was made by Alcatel. Anyway, I eventually dumped BT and had a series of bad ISP's, and finally settled with Sky, as I had switched my television service to them because the cable company was garbage. So I've come full circle and back to cable, albeit a different company and better technology. Hopefully it will all work. If not, I will have to go back to Sky and BT, which I'd rather not do.

We've got everything with Virgin, and have had no problems. If anything does break they don't charge parts or labour or call out fees or anything, they just fix or replace it.

Only downside is they wanna put prices up by over £4pm AGAIN in Feb.

The deal I took with Virgin already has the price increase baked in, so I'm okay with that. It still works out less than what I would pay Sky and BT for all I'm getting, and neither could match the broadband speed Virgin offers. I'm very pleased to hear you haven't had any problems with them, and it's always a comfort to know that they don't charge for call outs or parts. Sky tried to charge me once when I had a problem, so I told them I wanted to cancel, if that was the case. They sent someone out with no charge.

I always do that with Sky - never paid for repairs either :lmao

My contract with Virgin doesn't begin for another month, so I'll just have to wait and see if they come up with the goods.

Let us know how you get on with BT.

My Dad's going to call them and see what they say - In theory he should be paying less for more.....

Yes. BT BB and phone on any tariff should give him BT Sport for free. They might try to zap him with a charge for those channels in HD, so you might want to give him a heads up about that.
