Is the iPhone 6s water resistant?

Reports here http://www.wired.com/2015/10/waterproof-iphone-6s/ and ifixit https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPhone+ ... down/48170 and other sources say it may be not going to test it myself
iPhone 7 128GB on refresh 20gb yearly tariff
iPad Air 2 64gb on refresh
My first mobile was in 1995 a CM-R111 from sony on Cellnet.

I am going to invest in the lifeproof fre when 6s version is available for my holiday later in the year https://www.lifeproof.co.uk/en-gb/iphone-6s-cases just to be certain as I will be exposing the phone to sand and water (and maybe beer)
