Supanet Broadband

PostPosted by Gillsfankev » Tue Jul 26, 2016 9:47 pm

Ladies and Gents,

I've been a bit of a moron!

I'm having a nightmare getting BB installed at my new address. (Story is long but entertaining at the very least)

Ex-Timeshare cottage on a country club, there is a phone line that I have found behind a blanking panel connected to the exchange onsite. Next door finally has BT Broadband installed and working after a bit of a fight.

My Sky TV is installed and alive, Sky have now cancelled my Sky Talk and Sky Fibre install because OpenReach have quoted above their threshold price for installation stating that they need to install pylons etc....

Not one company will listen to me that I have in my hand the phone line that just needs a master socket put on it (I actually have one if they like!) and then flick the switch at the exchange.

My address is not yet live with Royal Mail as these are only recently been long term let (In Progress) So I cannot order BB online. Yesterday I decided that the only way to get it installed was to get BT to do it and go with BT Broadband for a year and then chop it all over to Sky (I get a good military discount if I take all 3 services)

Got the number from the missus and away I went.

Today! It seems I didn't call BT, I called Supanet and I've googled them and it's not good news!

However, they have promised to have me up and running in 14 days, so I thought 'what the hell, if they can achieve magic i'll give them the benefit of the doubt' but it's just not sitting with me right, I've no account number, no install date, no contract or indeed the only contact I've had is a text with my brand new @supanet webmail address (Yeah, cheers!)

The new consumer rights act (Ex Distance Selling Law) states because I've ordered over the phone i'm still within the 14 day cooling off period and can cancel free of charge. I've paid the £40 connection charge.

Sooooooo.

Questions are:-

1) Can I cancel with a simple call tomorrow?
2) when they try to charge me a cancellation fee, is that right?
3) Anyone used/heard of this company?

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Kev

Grammar. The difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit.

Xperia Z5 Dual Sim, EE & O2.
Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet LTE, Three.

yeah, looks the job doesn't it!

Just not sitting right with me. Found one of the terms stating although it's a 12 month contract if you leave within 24 months there's a £50 cancellation fee! (HOW!!!!)

1. Technically yes.
2. No, they can try but you know your rights and dsr applies to services as well as goods.
3. Yes, if they can give you the info tomorrow you need and you're happy to stay then check the t&c's and carry on.

No. Honest answer.
Their terms seem quite laughable and it is very negative that you have no info at all yet.
If an eBay seller can give information why can't these guys?
