The only watch I've had that will do that is the Gear 2 but that won't work with HTC so it would have to be an S2 minimum but that's way more than £80.......

If he's getting a Samsung phone, search out a decent used Gear 2.
Shouldn't cost too much and will do all he needs and more.

I think Ryan sold his to Cairdeas. Jonsie sold his to me (for Ray) who never has it off his wrist. Said he didnt want it. Till he tried it...
