Can't say I ever really liked him as a person but he wrote some classics. Far too much was published about his personal life and his demons but to be taken so soon is such a tragic waste.
RIP George..

I Loved him. One of my favourite performances was when he did this at the Freddie Mercury tribute at Wembley. Absolutely brilliant,
I thought at the time he would have made a good replacement...

Yes a great performer without a shadow of a doubt but as I said, such a waste I'm afraid.

Unfortunately I don't think he was ever comfortable with his sexuality and never truly happy. Flawed genius? Some may say but not for me.
George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, all had their share of heartache over the years but forever remembered for their great music. George...? Yes he made great music, wrote brilliant songs but just like Michael Jackson, people will remember the scandal and unsavoury moments as well as the music. Will his music be timeless and played by future generations? Maybe a few of songs such as Last Christmas, Faith, Freedom but by and large just another pop star.

I was there - definitely the highlight of the show, still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end!

I'll certainly miss that fantastic voice. It's clear how well liked he was.

Another passing tonight.. Although at 95 it's not unexpected. But in general , this cursed 2016 can do one! It's been horrendous for so many families
