Thats the job of a SuperUser.

here is a snippet from a mobile forum i'm a moderator on and it really hits the nail on the head IMO

"Be nice to members. You're supposed to be a leader of this forum, not a jerk.
You're not above everyone. You're still a normal member, just with moderating privileges. You don't need to act like you're supreme or like you're the commander."

1) I would like a new/different Board index if possible. I find the one we have is not eye catching enough and the sub-forums do not stand out.
For instance, the get Help with your Mobile has 5 subsections (which you do not see, unless you look closely) ...then on the section Last Post...you only see one (which does not encourage you to look any further than that)
Overall it is too small and scritty...should be bigger and bolder!

2) MI5 was thinking of doing away with SU status... (fine by me as I think we currently only have three SU's) However what about Admin and Mods (or are we looking at a new management structure?)

3) Can someone with the skill..please look at the PM function... at the moment we can still only send to ONE person, instead of multiple folk (as per emails)

That's all for now... but to quote Arnie ....I'll be back..no not in 2/52... later maybe

I think the current Admin leaders are sound and should stay as they are.

I don't believe at this stage we need as many moderators.

SuperUser status is a good idea as long as its managed correctly.

How lovely to find someone with similar thoughts to me ;)

I mentioned this way back in June. I think generally folk are against kudo's because of the 'ranking' that goes with it..

I much prefer a 'LIKE' button, it saves time and space (which you take up by replying with just a smiley)....

Deal of the week

PostPosted by stuart » Sun Jul 21, 2013 3:17 pm

As this is a mobile phone forum, shouldn't we have a deal of the week type thing where we find the best deal on a phone of our choice

Well if you're thinking of expanding, how about sub-forums for each of the networks? Stick to the majors and keep the mvno's to one board.

Deal of the week is fine but as long as you divide between phones types and contracts it would be easier to read through for the casual. I wouldn't bother with the contract one but would be interested more in sim free offers. Of course, that might construe a bit of free advertising so someone needs to moderate the postings to prevent what happens on Hotdealsuk where it can be abused by companies posing as individuals.
