Right click on the .exe and select "run as administrator".
I'm just installing Win 8 on my laptop so I'll check back later if I ever get online :)
Your issue is definately connected with a successfull install of the drivers.

Thanks MI5, I will try that when I get a chance.

I have just seen that HTC have launched 4.2.2 in the UK. Anyone care to guesstimate when O2 will finally manage to squeeze all their bloatware on board and push it through?

Right. I've managed to get one step further than I had with this. I found some free time and clicked 'run as administrator' as suggested by MI5. I then restarted the netbook, re-opened Hassan's toolkit and when i clicked the 'load into bootloader' command IT WORKED!!!

I was then attacked by five kids (NOT all mine), so had to abandon my efforts for the evening, but at least the drivers appear to be installed and therefore Hassan's toolkit is actually commanding the phone as it should.

What has now occured to me is:

As per my earlier posts, I managed to get my token ID, submit it, and download an unlock file myself already, without using the tool kit. Will the unlock file still be valid after all this time, I.e. is it a single unique code generated for my phone, or is it a dynamic thing that will need a new one as I tried (and failed) to use it already?

Just thinking I could skip a few steps on the toolkit as I managed to do that bit anyway...

btw, 16 days since HTC realeased 4.2.2 for the HOX, and O2 still don't have a clue when they are releasing it. They HAVE released it for the One X + however, which is confusing as apart from the better preocessor and battery the phones are nearly identical. Why can't they use that update for the HOX too?

Question Phill.

The HOX & One are they the same firmware released by HTC or are they different. If HTC have released the same firmware version for both then there is no reason O2 should be hanging around, but, if HTC released a different firmware version for each then O2 will be "testing" (bloating) both and have completed their bloating of one and not the other yet.

AFAIK your "Token" is tied to your phone so is valid for ever for that handset, ie anytime you reroot in the future you can use the same token so there shouldn't be any need to get it again....

It's the One X + they have updated, I think the ONE has already had it. I don't know know if the HOX and the HOX+ have the same firmware or not.

MI5: Thanks. Will skip that step and try the next when I get more time.

The (unbranded) One has already had 4.2.2 some time back, firmware numer 2.240.401.8

HTC have definitely released updated firmware for the unbranded One X which includes a version of Sense 5 - the stepdaughters (read mine) phone has had notification of an upgrade for some time now
