Sky Bills - Do I have A Point?

PostPosted by opium » Sat Oct 19, 2013 3:39 am

So I had Sky BB installed on 23rd of September. Naturally I received a bill the net day and paid 14 days later, the 9th of October. That's fine - this is normal. This was my month in advance 23/09-22/10.

But the day I paid, I received another bill for Oct-Nov. So bill produced 09/10 (the day I paid) to be paid 14 days later (23/10).

I said to them that they can't charge me 2 direct debits in a 14-day period but Sky (as far as their useless f*cking CS goes) are adamant this is a completely legitimate concept.

Am I right in saying that I should pay every 30 days or is there some other reason for this that their useless CS are unable to explain to me?

It sounds a bit harsh but think about it logically.

You accept that you pay in advance for the service. So the initial invoice should have been produced 14 days prior to provisioning the service and paid on 23 September but nobody knew the exact start date that far in advance to be able to produce the invoice.

In other words, it's the initial invoice that's wrong not the subsequent ones.

I've had Sky for so long now I can't remember the first bills, but I certainly only pay once every month now....
I guess you need to hang on and see how the next bill pans out......

I've just made the decision to move from O2 to a Sky contract so I'll be checking the bills carefully, thanks for the tip off.
